Vision :

Our vision is to be proactive in carrying out our mission and in identifying the needs of the community and the department. We join our citizens, government agencies and businesses in sharing responsibility for the community's safety. The cornerstones of our vision include:

  • Always being ready to respond to calls for emergency services.
  • Providing members with the equipment, facilities and skills for safe, effective performance and personal growth opportunities.
  • Providing a supportive work climate for all personnel.
  • Encouraging innovative approaches and ideas, which enhance the delivery of services.
  • Promoting program development through continuous quality assurance.

Our future vision is to create three emergency management zones on Bainbridge Island with a fire station being the focal point of each zone. Ideally, firefighters would respond to emergencies in zones where they live and/or work.

We also plan to maintain our five minute average response time goal for fire and medical emergencies; expand our efforts to reduce fire hazards and promote community safety and emergency preparedness.
