Fire Chief's Message PDF Print E-mail

On behalf of the Bainbridge Island Fire Department, I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year. 2011 was a very significant year for our Department. Thanks to our community’s support, we have added a 6th paramedic to our Department.  Soon, we will have two paramedics assigned 24 hours a day to assist with the ever growing emergency medical needs on Bainbridge Island.

In addition, your Fire Department has entered into a partnership with the City of Bainbridge Island (COBI) to provide emergency preparedness services. The Fire Department will be working to help you be prepared for many of the potential natural and man made incidents that could happen here on Bainbridge. The process of providing the Island with an effective emergency preparedness program will be an ongoing one and will take a significant commitment of both time and resources.

In 2012, the Department will be publishing an update to our 10 Year Strategic Plan. The update will capture many of the economic challenges facing the Department as well as updating you on the improvement of services that have been completed as part of the Plan.

The above highlights are just a few of the exciting changes that your Bainbridge Island Fire Department is pursuing on the Island. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and thank you for your continued support of your Bainbridge Island Fire Department.

Hank Teran, Fire Chief
